Eden Camp, the Second World War museum housed in a former prisoner of war camp near Malton in North Yorkshire, has reported a successful 2025 with growing visitor numbers and exceptional satisfaction ratings.

The museum welcomed 22,133 school children during the year, nearly 9 percent more than in 2024. Overall visitor satisfaction reached 90.5 percent rating their experience as “Excellent,” with particular praise for value for money and staff friendliness.

The year featured a packed events calendar including two Living History Weekends, Tank Week, Back to the 1940s, a new Modern Military Weekend, and Summer on the Home Front alongside seasonal family activities.

“This year has been a fantastic year for Eden Camp,” said Director Howard Johnson. “Our team has worked hard to deliver engaging, memorable experiences for visitors of all ages and the responses we’ve received are a testament to their dedication.”

Eden Camp occupies Britain’s only remaining prisoner of war camp where the original huts have been preserved. Built in 1942, the site now houses immersive displays telling the story of civilian life in wartime Britain, supported by a collection of historic military vehicles and an archive of more than 103,000 documents, artifacts, and photographs.

The museum recently benefited from £224,000 in funding from North Yorkshire Council to restore the original POW huts.

Looking ahead to 2026, Eden Camp has confirmed the return of its popular Living History Weekend with a new addition—re-enactors bringing the exhibits to life throughout the museum.
