London’s appeal as a music tourism destination is set to receive a significant boost this May with the opening of Live Odyssey, an innovative new attraction in Camden that promises to transform how visitors experience Britain’s rich musical heritage.

The immersive two-and-a-half-hour experience will guide visitors through six decades of British music, from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to contemporary artists like Dua Lipa and Stormzy, combining live performances with cutting-edge technology and rare memorabilia.

A New Must-Visit London Attraction

For tourists planning a London itinerary, Live Odyssey will offer a convenient way to experience the breadth of British music in a single location. Situated in Camden – already a popular destination for music fans drawn to its famous market and venues – the attraction is expected to become a cornerstone of music tourism in the capital.

“We’ve created something that will appeal to international visitors who want to connect with British culture through our most famous export – our music,” said Gary Prosser, Creative Director of Live Odyssey. “Whether you’re a die-hard fan or simply curious about why British music has had such global impact, this experience offers something truly unique.”

What Visitors Can Expect

Tourists will begin their journey by entering via “The Clash steps,” before moving through six themed rooms representing different musical eras. Each space recreates the atmosphere of its period through a combination of live music, visuals, and cultural artifacts.

The attraction features several highlights likely to appeal to international visitors:

  • A state-of-the-art Hologram Room featuring an exclusive performance by The Libertines
  • Heritage items including David Bowie’s Glastonbury microphone and equipment used to record John Lennon’s “Imagine”
  • A rotating collection of 3,500 original album artworks
  • Live performances throughout the day from skilled musicians covering British classics
  • An impressive finale featuring 3D immersive visuals set to music by Queen’s Roger Taylor

Carl Barât of The Libertines commented on the hologram experience: “This is something truly special. Performing in Camden for this project brought everything full circle for us. Knowing it will live on as part of Live Odyssey is truly exciting.”

Planning Your Visit

Live Odyssey is strategically positioned to complement existing music tourism sites across London, from Abbey Road in St John’s Wood to the O2’s British Music Experience in Greenwich. Tour operators are already considering how to incorporate the attraction into music-themed itineraries.

Sarah Bennett, a London-based tour guide specializing in music tourism, told us: “This will be perfect for international visitors who want to understand why British music matters so much globally. I can see it becoming as essential as Beatles tours in Liverpool or visiting Graceland in Memphis for music fans.”

The attraction has been designed with international visitors in mind, with multilingual options expected to be available. The experience will last approximately two and a half hours, though visitors can move freely between different areas and adjoining bars, making it a flexible option for tourists with varying schedules.

Ticket Information and Practical Details

Early bird tickets are available until 31st March for £25, with standard pricing to be confirmed closer to the May opening. The attraction’s centrally located Camden site offers easy access via the Northern Line (Camden Town station) and numerous bus routes.

For international visitors planning ahead, the Live Odyssey website (www.liveodyssey.co.uk) offers online booking and will soon feature recommended accommodation options nearby. Group bookings and tour operator packages are also available.

As an added incentive for conscientious travelers, a portion of ticket sales will support the Music Venue Trust, helping to preserve the grassroots venues that nurture new British musical talent – allowing tourists to feel they’re contributing to the future of British music while celebrating its past.

With London’s tourism industry continuing its post-pandemic recovery, Live Odyssey represents a significant new addition to the capital’s cultural offering, providing both domestic and international visitors with an innovative way to experience one of Britain’s most celebrated cultural exports.
